About the Wine Tasting Events
How it works
You will get a wine tasting mat, six wine tasting glasses and a water glass when you arrive (to be returned at the end!). You will get a sample of each wine, and these will be presented in a particular order so that we can appreciate the aromas and flavours of each one while I tell you all about them. You will learn about the grapes, where they are grown, decisions made in the vineyard and the fermentation and ageing processes involved. If you would like guidance on how to taste the wines, I am there to help. You will receive blank tasting notes sheets for you to write down your thoughts on the wines as you go along. If you're driving or you just don't want to drink the wines, there are spittoons available!
October / November theme: ¡Viva España!
Each month, the wines are selected with a different theme. This month, the theme is Spanish wines. I have selected six delicious wines for you to try - three white and three red. These vary in style and cost. Whether you are a committed wine drinker who knows what they like but would like to know more, or a committed wine buff who would like to come and share their knowledge, everyone is more than welcome! Events available: Swalcliffe Village Hall, Thursday 28th November, 8.15.
December theme: Festive Wines
In the run-up to Christmas, the North Oxfordshire Wine Club will bring you six wines selected to suit festive occasions. Find out why these wine styles fit so well with food and festivities at this time of the year. As always, we will taste wines to suit different budgets. All the wines presented will be able to purchase with free delivery (minimum 6 bottles) after the event. Events available: Sibfords Village Hall, Wednesday 11th December, 8.15pm.
Buying the wines
The most important thing for me is that you enjoy the evening and enjoy learning about the wines. There is no pressure or expectation for you to buy any wine. However, if you would like to order any of the wines you have learned about, you can do so here. The minimum purchase is for any six bottles, and you will get free delivery if you live in an OX postcode area. There may be charges for other areas - please enquire. The delivery will be fulfilled the following week. If you do decide to buy 6 or more bottles from me, I will knock £5 off the price of your next wine club event. There may be individual bottles available for you to purchase after the event, but this will be dependent on stock.
