Friday October 16th. Chipping Norton School Wine & Cheese Tasting
Six fabulous wines paired with six delicious cheeses... A laid-back tutored tasting to take the edge off the start of the school year! This event will take place at The Pop-Up Studios in Chipping Norton. All profits raised will go to the school PTA.
Saturday November 7th. A tasting of premium wines... with cheese!
This will take place at The Holly Tree Club, Deddington. A very special evening with six premium wines, expertly matched with six delicious cheeses. The cost will be £50 per head, and tickets will be available very soon. Please get in touch to reserve your place!
How does it work?
If you would like me to run a wine tasting evening for your group, business or community, all I need is a minimum of 8 people and a couple of weeks' notice. I can come to a venue of your choosing or I can arrange one in your town or village. Your group can choose the theme for the evening (by colour, grape, region or season) or I can choose one for you. If you would some cheeses to match the wines, or even some chocolate, this is something I can add in.
What happens in a wine tasting evening?
You will get a wine tasting mat, six wine tasting glasses and a water glass when you arrive (to be returned at the end!). You will get a sample of each wine, and these will be presented in a particular order so that we can appreciate the aromas and flavours of each one while I tell you all about them. You will learn about the grapes, where they are grown, decisions made in the vineyard and the fermentation and ageing processes involved. If you would like guidance on how to taste the wines, I am there to help. You will receive blank tasting notes sheets for you to write down your thoughts on the wines as you go along. If you're driving or you just don't want to drink the wines, there are spittoons available! If you would like to make your evening even tastier, I can bring along some carefully selected cheeses or chocolates to match each wine.
What's the cost?
This depends on the theme of the evening and whether you would like cheese included. Typically, a wine tasting evening will cost around £30 per head (this will be higher for tastings of premium wines). Add in cheeses or chocolates to match each wine for an additional £5 per head.
